Marvin Turner Obituary

The world became a little less bright on March 27, 2026, with the loss of our beloved Marvin W. Turner.

Marvin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose love, laughter, and presence touched everyone who knew him. He passed away one day after his birthday, March 28, 2026, due to a heart attack and subsequent head injury.

Marvin was born on March 27, 1960, in Birmingham, Alabama, to James Robert Turner and Georgia Ann Turner. He carried his Southern roots with pride, something you could feel in everything he did—especially in the kitchen. The aroma of fried chicken, collard greens, macaroni, and his favorite sweets—

hocolate cake, cookies, and dark chocolate—would fill the home as he cooked and baked for family and friends, bringing everyone together with love in every meal.

He had an infectious smile and an unforgettable sense of humor that could light up any room. On weekends, he loved making breakfast—grits, eggs, and sausage—for his daughter Tiffanie and his favorite niece Christine, while laughter and childhood joy filled Nana’s house.

Music was a central part of Marvin’s life. He could often be found in his room, a cigarette in hand, playing old-school records from artists like Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and Al Green. In his younger days, he even spent time DJing, working his turntable and bringing music to life. His love for music lives on through his daughter, who shares that same passion—dancing and cooking with love in the kitchen, just like him.

Marvin also found deep purpose in caring for his late mother, Georgia Ann Turner. He lovingly prepared meals for her, sat by her side, and shared quiet moments watching television and talking together. Even as she battled dementia, he remained devoted to her until her passing. She was truly his favorite lady.

Painting was Marvin’s place of peace. With his headphones on and music playing, he would lose himself in his work—whether painting homes or bringing new life to a kitchen. He also had a deep passion for carpentry, taking pride in building porches, decks, and other projects with his hands. His craftsmanship reflected his patience, skill, and dedication.

Marvin was a man who loved deeply, laughed often, and made everyone feel at home. Though his passing leaves a profound emptiness, his spirit will forever live on through the memories he created, the music he loved, the meals he shared, and the love he gave so freely.

While his family continues to grieve this tremendous loss, they find comfort in the vibrant and joyful way he lived his life and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Morgan, who shared a deep and unbreakable bond with him.

He is also survived by his daughter, Tiffanie White (Jorge); his son, Keishaun Turner; his brothers, James Turner (Betty), Kervin Turner (Sonia), and Eric Turner (Kenia); and his cherished grandchildren, Maasiai White, Jaidyn White, Peyton White, Keishaun Turner Jr., and Kay’sky Turner.

Marvin also leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews, including Christine Albertson (Tyrone), Kervin Turner Jr., Isaiah Turner,Giannia Turner (Emmanuel) Deserea Meristil (Max), Lawnjea Lee, and Devon Turner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert Turner and Georgia Ann Turner; his brother, Glen Turner; and his son, Marvin W. Turner Jr.
