Maurice L. Posley

Maurice L. Posley departed from this life on July 20, 2026, in Providence, Rhode Island.

Maurice L. Posley was born on November 17, 1972, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Ruth Posley and Charles Ferguson.

In 1991, Maurice attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where he pledged to the Kappa Kappa Psi Fraternity and became a Mason. He still remained in contact with his line brothers, college friends and others he grew up with until the end. He was a beloved friend who never failed to make people laugh. He loved throwback music hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s, funny iconic movies and dancing, even though he couldn't dance very well.

Maurice later moved to Boston, Massachusetts as a young adult where he became a father to his daughter Cheyenne Posley in 1999, who was his pride and joy. He worked many jobs including moving services and transportation. He resided in many different states, but leading up to his passing, he settled in Woonsocket, Rhode Island where he displayed his good heart to his neighbors by helping those who were dealing with food insecurity. Whenever someone was moving, he never passed on an opportunity to help, that is who he was.

Maurice is survived by his beloved daughter, Cheyenne Posley of Boston, Massachusetts, his dear brothers Michael Posley Sr. of Columbia, South Carolina, Darrin Ferguson of Chicago, Illinois and Michael Walker of Boston, Massachusetts. He also leaves behind an aunt, Christine Larde, uncles, a host of cousins including Cherelle Posley, Lisa Posley, Jacqueline Posley and Antonio Larde who were like siblings to him, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. 

Maurice L. Posley is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Posley; his father, Charles Ferguson; and sisters Phymecca Posley and Monique Ferguson.

He leaves behind countless memories and will be missed by many.
