Nicholas James Miller, affectionately known as “Nicky” or “Drip,” passed away on August 17, 2024, in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Born on February 24, 1998, in Brockton, Massachusetts, Nicholas was the cherished son of Patrice Miller and the loving brother of Jade Miller, Carlos Jr., and Cayv Soares.
Nicholas attended Harwich High School, where he was a passionate student-athlete who enjoyed literature and history.
Nicholas enjoyed long drives, spending time with friends, writing his own music, and long phone calls with his mom and sister. Nicholas was a rambunctious, curious, and daring young man who above all else, loved his family and friends. He was a son who called his mother daily to check on her, a brother who was fiercely protective of his big sister and a mentor to his young brothers, a big cousin who adored his young cousins, and a loyal friend who supported those he cared about in all their endeavors.
Nicholas was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Alexis Miller, and his best friend Jordan Fisher. He leaves behind a loving family: his mother, Patrice Miller; his sister, Jade Miller; his brothers, Carlos Jr., and Cayv Soares; his paternal grandmother, Julia Soares; his Aunt Leah (Rayon) Hill; beloved cousins Olivia, Gabba, Niyah, Omari, and Isaiah Hill; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A service to celebrate Nicholas’ life will be held on August 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the George Lopes Funeral Home, located at 647 Main Street Brockton, MA. Following the service, Nicholas will be cremated to remain in the eternal presence of those most dear to him. A repass will be held at the funeral home immediately after the service.
Nicholas will be remembered for his fierce loyalty, unique sense of humor, and his adventurous spirit. Nicholas’ commitment to living life to the fullest will live on in the hearts of those that love him. bell hooks said it best, “love is the only force that allows us to hold one another close beyond the grave.”
Rest in Peace Nicholas. Gone but never forgotten.
