Phyllis Welles Rose was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 1, 1929, to the late Marie Elizebeth Wilson-Johnson and Charles W. rose. She was the beloved stepdaughter of Pearl F. Johnson. Phyllis departed this life on November 3, 2023, at age 94.
Phyllis attended Boston Public Schools, graduating from Roxbury Memorial High School. She held a number of jobs in her lifetime, retiring from the Telephone company in a supervisory capacity after 20 years of service.
Phyllis was an avid traveler, visiting the Bahamas, Europe, Brazil and most of the United States. She and her sister, Bette, (who preceded her in death) were inseparable. They opened up the world of travel to their nieces and nephews. She was well liked by all who knew her for her kindness and generosity. She was a loyal friend and exceptional sister-in-law, always there for her family.
Phyllis leaves to cherish her memory, her brother Bobby, sister-in-law Charlotte, and their children, Marlena, Robert (Bunny), and Dawn, along with her grand nieces and nephews, Aaron, Jared, Shamika, Ebony, Sasha, Tasha, Paul, Manmny, Christina, Ashley, Brianna and Mishelle; great nieces and nephews, Deja, Jared Jr., Jaxon, Autumn, Tristan, Maceo, Elani, Anthony, Justice, Aaliyah, Mason, Honour and Milly; cousins James(Marchelle) Raynor, George (Anita) Raynor, Edward (Billy) Raynor, Robert Raynor, Tracy Raynor-Marsh, Osmond (Mansur) Raynor and Charlene Griffin of Chester, PA. She is pre-deceased by her parents, sister Bette, aunt Hazel Raynor, and beloved cousin Edward (Billy) Raynor Sr. She also leaves special friends, Inell Hughes, Olive Ann Leseur and a host relatives and friends. Phyllis will be greatly missed.
