It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Quintino Monteiro Andrade, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, who departed this life on May 18, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in the village of Cascabulho, on the island of Maio, Cabo Verde.
Quintino lived a life marked by faith, wisdom, and devotion to family and community.
He was the cherished husband of Maria Rita Andrade, a proud father to his three children: Nelson, Hamilton, and Helia Andrade, and a beloved grandfather to Nadiah Sophia Andrade. He instilled in them the values he held closest to his heart: integrity, kindness, and a thirst for knowledge.
Born to Joana Monteiro Andrade and Felipe Pedro Andrade, Quintino was raised in a home grounded in faith and strong family values. He was one of six siblings and shared a bond with his brothers and sister: Bernardo, Margarida, Carlos, Pancrácio, and Léo Monteiro Andrade.
Quintino carried a strong sense of faith throughout his life. His spiritual devotion shaped the way he treated others with compassion, generosity, and humility. He was a quiet yet powerful presence, and always ready to give a helping hand or a thoughtful word.
He loved books and classical music. As a lifelong learner, he believed in the power of education to change lives and uplift generations, especially in our Cape Verdean Community.
Though he has left this earthly life, his legacy continues in the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the lives he helped shape.
May he rest in eternal peace.
