Roger Harry Dickinson Jr., of Whitman, formally of Brockton Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on March 29, 2026, at the age of 57.
Born on November 19, 1968, in Norwood, Massachusetts, Roger was the beloved son of Mary M. (Cassidy) Dickinson and the late Roger H. Dickinson Sr. He was a devoted and loving brother to Donna Shearing, Richard, Diane Visalli, and Lisa Mahoney, and was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Dickinson. Brother-in-Law to Cathy Dickinson, Scott Shearing, Nicole Williams and the late John Visalli.
Roger was a proud and cherished uncle AKA “The Big Guy” to Lynwood, Lydia, Christoper, Sean, Mary, Cassidy, Daniel, Charlie, Sydney and Abigail. Countless other “adopted” Nieces and nephews of close friends and Great Uncle to six more nieces and nephews. He loved them all dearly and was always so proud of each of them.
He leaves behind his loving mother, Mary; his siblings; his many nieces and nephews; and a large circle of extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A man of many talents and passions, Roger had a deep love for music and especially enjoyed playing the guitar and bass. He found joy in riding his motorcycle, his Harley-Davidson being a particular source of pride—and embraced the freedom of the open road. He especially enjoyed his rides to New Hampshire to visit his beloved childhood friends Rob Hurley and Dennis Colvin.
Roger attended Brockton Public Schools and, while he did not pursue a formal degree, Roger held many different employment roles over the years. Most knew him from cooking at the Cape Cod Café or selling cars at Route106 Motors for his friend Joe Savino. He truly was a “Jack of all trades” He could figure out fix, create or build just about anything he put his mind or interests to.
He was sociable, friendly, and always ready with a conversation, joke and had the wildest stories and adventures. He was known as a hardworking, personable, funny and sarcastic. A devoted New England sports fan, Roger enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams and sharing that enthusiasm with others.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Roger’s life at a memorial service on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at George Lopes Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
