Sabino Pires Obituary

Sabino Manuel Santos Pires, 52, of Brockton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, in New Bedford.

Born on October 8, 1973, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, Sabino was the beloved son of Manuel Pires and the late Maria Santos Rosa Pires. He carried with him the rich culture, strength, and deep sense of family instilled in him from his homeland throughout his life.

Sabino dedicated his working years to his craft as a barber at SS Barber Shop. More than a profession, barbering was his passion. Through steady hands and a warm smile, he built lasting relationships with his clients, many of whom became lifelong friends. He was known not only for his skill, but for his kindness, humor, and the welcoming spirit he brought to everyone who sat in his chair.

Above all, Sabino was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his cherished child, Scott Pires, who was the light of his life. He also leaves behind his loving father, Manuel Pires; his siblings, Dolcelina Manuela Santos Pires, Maria Rosalina Santos Pires, Joao Domingos Santos Pires, Maria Joana Pires, Antero Santos Rosa Pires, Emanuel Antonio Rosa Pires, and Carlos Jorge Santos Pires; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Maria Santos Rosa Pires, and his brother, Jose Miguel Santos Pires.
