Stephanie Edgehill Obituary

Stephanie Eudora Edgehill, age 80, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones and family. Born on October 23, 1944, in Christ Church, Barbados, to Eileen Edghill and Culbert Ramsey, Stephanie was the eldest of five siblings. She lovingly guided her brothers and sisters—Phyllis Gary, Anthony Bovell, Richard Bovell, and Charmaine Edghill—through the ups and downs of life with her characteristic strength and care.

In December 1977, at the age of 33, Stephanie made the courageous decision to leave her home in Barbados with her three beloved children to start a new chapter in Boston, Massachusetts. There, she dedicated nearly two decades of her life working at Massachusetts General Hospital as a Food Service Worker, where she was known for her diligence, dedication, and warm spirit.

Stephanie’s love extended far beyond her work; she had a gift for creating beautiful flower arrangements and found deep joy in nurturing her grandchildren. She possessed a gentle yet resilient spirit, a kind heart, and unwavering devotion to her family. Stephanie carried herself with dignity, strength, and grace, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Her passing precedes that of her beloved mother, Eileen Bovell, nee Edghill, her stepfather McDonald Bovell, and her siblings Phyllis Gary, Anthony Bovell, and Richard Bovell.

She is survived by her loving sister Charmaine Edghill; her three children, Shelley, Julie, and Ormand Adams; six grandchildren, Theresa Atkinson, Melvin Long and daughter-in-law, Jessica Jean Pierre; Travis Clayton-Adams, Kristen and Francis Adams, and Jalisa Rutty-Adams; three great-grandchildren, Jemel, Romelo, and Meleik Long; four nieces, Susan Edghill, Ansonia Bovell, Christina Barbosa, and Kaelyn Williams; one nephew, Anthony Bovell Jr.; her sister-in-law Mary Bovell; as well as many friends and relatives.

A special heartfelt thanks to Karen Clayton, who spent many Saturday evenings with Stephanie listening to gospel music, playing card games, and browsing through online shopping sites.

Stephanie’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, extended relatives, and the many friends whose lives she touched with her kindness. She will be deeply missed but forever lovingly remembered.
