Tommy Brown Obituary

Tommy Brown was born on December 24, 1960, in Boston, Massachusetts to parents Carole and Herbert Brown.

On March 21, 2026, his family and friends were left devastated by the tragic news of his passing.

The second of 6 kids, Tommy was a loving father, brother, son, uncle, and friend. He loved his family dearly. This would be a character trait that would define him throughout his life, as he was a firm believer in God and family. As a child, Tommy was passionate about sports, specifically baseball, and often dreamed of playing professionally. While this dream did not come to fruition, his passion for the sport remained a constant fixture in his life, with an unwavering support for his beloved Boston Red Sox.

Tommy was educated in the Boston Public school system. He was a graduate of Albert Palmer Elementary, Dearborn Middle School, and Cathedral High School. Post high school, Tommy attended Northeastern University, where he majored in journalism. While attending, he worked for the City of Boston as a property surveyor. It was during his time in college that Tommy discovered his true calling, when he cut his academic career short to assist in managing his brother, R&B star Bobby Brown, who was the founding member of the boy band New Edition. He
would serve in this role for over two decades, during which, he traveled the world, earning the respect of his peers and colleagues wherever he went.

In addition to his passion for sports, Tommy also loved music and movies. He viewed all three as his favorite pastimes. In early 2000, Tommy rededicated his life to the Lord-strengthening his commitment to God, and his belief in a strong family unit. In the spring of 2007, fate presented a full circle moment for Tommy’s love for baseball and his beloved Boston Red Sox. While filming scenes for his brother’s reality television show ‘Being Bobby Brown,’ he was allowed access to Fenway Park, home of his beloved Boston Red Sox. It was then he proclaimed that
the Red Sox would not only win the pennant, but win in a spectacular fashion, and win the entire championship. A proclamation that came true later that fall, as the Red Sox did in fact come back from three games down to beat their archrivals, the New York Yankees, and win the World Series. Thus, ending the alleged Babe Ruth Curse.

Tommy leaves to remember his loving memory: sons Tommy K. Brown-Crockett Jr and McKinley Brown; sisters Tina Brown, Leolah Brown, and Carole Brown; brother, Robert Barisford Brown Sr (Alicia); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is proceeded by his mother Carole Brown, father Herbert Brown; sister Elizabeth (“Bethy”) Brown, son Jarrett Crockett-Brown, niece Bobbi (‘Bobbi Girl’) Kristina Brown; nephew Robert (Little Bobby”) Barisford Brown, Jr, and Cousin William (“Billy Bang Bang”) Brinson
