Tyrone Randolph Davis, 44, of Lynn, Massachusetts, passed away on July 5, 2026. Born on August 7, 1981, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Tyrone lived a life defined by love, generosity, resilience, and an incredible gift for making people feel like they belonged.
If there was one thing people knew about Tyrone, it was that he showed up. He never missed a birthday party, family gathering, or special event if he could help it. If something mattered to you, it mattered to him. Whether you needed a helping hand, someone to celebrate with, or simply someone to count on, Tyrone found a way to be there. He had a heart that welcomed people without hesitation and an authenticity that made it easy for others to trust him. Making friends came naturally because he treated people like family long before they ever expected it. Once you earned a place in his heart, you had it for life. His ability to connect with people was truly one of his greatest gifts.
After spending much of his childhood moving throughout the Boston area, Tyrone moved to Lynn, Massachusetts, with his mother and siblings at the age of 14. It was there that his roots began to grow. Lynn became the place where he shaped his identity, formed friendships that would last a lifetime, and became part of a community that would remain close to his heart. It wasn't simply where he lived. It was where so many people came to know, love, and remember the man he would become.
Tyrone was an entrepreneur through and through. Punching a clock for someone else was never the life he envisioned for himself. He was simply too creative, too driven, and too full of ideas to limit himself to one path. As the proud owner and operator of Company Thrift, a junk removal business, he poured himself into his work with determination and pride. Whether he was searching through storage units, excited by the possibility of discovering hidden treasures to restore and resell, or climbing into his work truck to plow snow during the winter months, Tyrone embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and purpose. He was always thinking about the next idea, the next opportunity, or another way to build something meaningful. More than anything, he worked to build a legacy his three children could be proud of.
When he wasn't working, Tyrone could often be found with his beloved slingshot community, a group that became an extension of his family. Their bond was built on friendship, loyalty, and always showing up for one another. If you saw Tyrone out riding in his slingshot, chances were you also saw his son and sidekick, Tyrone Jr., right there beside him. Together they shared countless rides, memories, and adventures that reflected the close bond between father and son.
Another expression of Tyrone's creativity was found in the kitchen. Having learned to cook as a young man while working alongside his father in the family's restaurants, he developed a passion for creating meals that brought people together. Around the holidays there was almost always something new on the table, and he loved seeing everyone's reaction to his latest creation.
When the food was gone, there was a good chance the cards were coming out. Tyrone loved playing cards almost as much as he loved talking trash while he played. Laughter seemed to follow him wherever he went, and it was rare to catch him without a smile on his face. He had a way of making ordinary moments memorable simply by being himself.
Above all else, Tyrone loved his family. Whether by blood or by bond, he made people feel valued, welcomed, and loved. His greatest joy was creating memories with the people who meant the most to him and building a future that his children could always be proud of.
Tyrone was preceded in death by his parents, Ann M. Whitley and Herbert R. Davis, and his brother, Thomas Whitley.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved children, Aiyanna Davis, Mariah Davis, and Tyrone Davis Jr.; His life partner, Lois Gibson; his sisters, Dorothy Whitley and Janell Davis; his brother, Anthony Bly; his cherished nieces and nephews; a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends who became family through the love and loyalty he so freely gave.
To know Tyrone was to know someone who lived with his whole heart. He showed up. He loved deeply. He laughed often. He gave generously. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will continue to live on in every life he touched. His memory will forever remind us that the greatest legacy we leave behind is the love we give to others.
