Vital Cardoso

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vital Cardoso, beloved husband, father, brother and friend, who departed this life on August 27, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Born on November 8, 1951, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, Vital was the cherished son of the late João Cardoso and Francisca Fernandes. He carried the rich traditions and values of his homeland throughout his life, embracing hard work, humility and a deep love for family.

Vital was a man of quiet strength and deep faith. He was a loving husband to his devoted wife, Eugénia Cardoso, and a proud father to their son, Edvaldo Cardoso, whom he raised with wisdom, care and unwavering support. His life was rooted in love for his family and a sincere desire to help those around him.

He is survived by his wife and son, one sister, five brothers, and a host of extended family and dear friends who will miss his warm presence, kind smile and generous spirit. Vital touched the lives of many with his gentle demeanor and his enduring ability to listen, encourage and uplift.

Though Vital may no longer be with us in body, his legacy of love, strength, and humility will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

May he rest in eternal peace.
