Willie Corbett

Willie Corbett passed peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2019, surrounded by his loving family in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Willie Corbett the son of the late C.J. Corbett and Loree Calhoun Corbett was born on April 16, 1950 in Claxton, Georgia.  Willie transitioned to eternal rest on December 30, 2019 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by three brothers John Lee Corbett, Hughston Lee Corbett, Julius Corbett and one sister Doretha “Peaches” Corbett Bobbitt Eason.

At a young age he joined St. Luke AME Church, Lyons Georgia where he was a member of the usher board. He attended Lyons Industrial High school, played football and ran track.

Willie moved to Boston, Ma in August 1976, and began working for The Sherrill House for 3 years. Willie then moved on to work for Boston Park Plaza Hotel for 25 years.  He had a heart of gold and a love for music particularly some James Brown.

Willie Corbett leaves to cherish his memory six sisters, Nena Corbett, Elizabeth Corbett Wyatt (James), Jeanette Corbett Jeffes (Thomas), and Darlene Corbett, all of Boston Massachusetts; Rose Corbett Mitchell, and Christine Corbett of Lyons, Georgia. Three brothers, Eugene Corbett Sr. (Vivian), and Cornelius Corbett of Boston, Massachusetts, Donnell Corbett of Indian Head, Maryland, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and friends.

Visitation with family will be Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 10:00 AM – 11: 00 AM at the George Lopes Funeral Home, 821 Cummins Highway, Mattapan, MA 02126.

Celebration of life will start at 11:00 AM also from the funeral home. Private Interment will be held with St. Michael's Crematory, Roslindale.
