Willie James Obituary

Willie Daniel James was born on June 9,1942 and departed this life on January 19, 2025.

He was born to Ha e Mae Houston James and Willie James in Pavo, Georgia. Willie professed his faith at an early age.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Alice James, his children (Tiffany Monique James, Nikia Dean, Daren Alonzo James, Willie Daniel James, Jr.) and a sister, Joann James Goldwire and 10 grandchildren (Christopher(deceased), Elijah, Daren, Jr., Darius, Brandon, Trinity, Taavis, Duwaani, Danjjal, & Jaylen), and 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, siblings (Easter Mae James Jones, Sylvester James, Martha Anne James Thompson, & Bethina James Brown), and 3 children (Denise James, Willie Dean James, and Kema Dean.)

Willie hosted “The Simply Daniel Radio Ministry” on 1330 AM radio and was awarded the David Adams Award for “Outstanding Service in Gospel Music”. He was a staff member at the Boston Globe and worked in healthcare for many years. He was a carpenter and general contractor with his own company, W. James Contract ng. Willie sang with several gospel groups during his life, Edna Gallmon Cooke, The Disciples with Lenny Cox, His own group, The God Squad, and Louis Johnson & The Swan Silver tones.
