It is with profound sadness and unimaginable sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Yanick Gomes Rodrigues, who departed this life on July 25, 2026, at the tender age of 17.

Yanick Gomes Rodrigues was born on September 3, 2008, in Fogo, Cape Verde, to his loving parents, Plodino Rodrigues Pontes and Neusa Simone Da Rosa.

Though his life was far too brief, Yanick touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a deep love for soccer, a sport that brought him great joy and allowed his competitive spirit, determination, and love of teamwork to shine. Whether playing with friends or cheering on his favorite teams, soccer was one of his greatest passions. His warm smile, kind heart, and vibrant spirit will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Yanick leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted parents, Plodino Rodrigues Pontes and Neusa Simone Da Rosa; his beloved stepfather, Alessandro Depina; his loving siblings, Nathan, Jayden, and Skyla; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply and carry his memory in their hearts forever.

Although Yanick’s earthly journey was tragically cut short, the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories he created will remain everlasting. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
