It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yanick Silvano Tavares Paiva, who departed this life on April 5, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Yanick was born on December 21, 1989, in Praia, Cabo Verde, to his loving parents, Adriano De Carvalho and Silvana Tavares, who survive him. From an early age, Yanick brought light and energy into every room he entered, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Yanick had a deep love for life that was most evident in his passions. He enjoyed playing soccer, where his spirit and determination shone both on and off the field. He also had a remarkable gift for music, especially rapping, an art form through which he expressed his creativity, emotions, and unique voice. Music was not just a hobby for Yanick; it was a reflection of his soul and a connection to those around him.
Above all, Yanick cherished his family. He leaves behind his devoted parents, Adriano and Silvana; his beloved siblings, Denise Paiva, Liniane Paiva, Griane De Carvalho, Yanira De Carvalho, and Dyrce Vaz; and one cherished nephew. He also leaves a large and loving circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family members who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
Yanick will be remembered for his vibrant personality, his passion for music, his love of sports, and the warmth and joy he brought to those around him. His presence was a gift, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at George Lopes Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
A Funeral Service will take place the following day, Saturday, April 18, 2026, beginning at 8:00 AM at the same location.
Interment will follow at Melrose Cemetery, 88 North Pearl Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
Though Yanick’s time with us was far too short, his love, laughter, and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
