Zola Mae Watson

Zola Mae Watson passed away with family by her side on January 29, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Born on July 13, 1933, in a small town in Alabama, called Pineapple. Soon thereafter, Zola moved to Boston, MA with her husband and children. As a young woman Zola went to in Pineapple high school, where she graduated. She played on the girls’ basketball team and a member of the black leg majorettes. Where she met and married her high school sweetheart Alfonso Watson.

Zola completed her education in Boston, MA and choose a career in healthcare as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. She dedicated her life to healthcare, making a meaningful impact on the lives of many, through her work until reaching retirement.

Zola was quiet, reserved, and strong she loved her family, and dedicated her entire life to her children and grandchildren. Every holiday she would cook a big meal and then go to work for the day, as to never leave her patients on holidays.

Zola proceeds Mother Lola Blackmon Henderson, Father Clifford Henderson. Zola is proceeded by her brother Alan Henderson and leaves behind Brother Thomas Lee Henderson and wife (Jullia Henderson), Johnny Henderson and wife (Katie Henderson), she was blessed with 6 children, Alfonso Watson Jr, (Teresa), Benny and (Beth) Watson, Tyrone Watson, Patricia Watson, and Janice Watson, Zola was proceeded by son Larry Watson.

She also loved and cherished spending time with all her grandchildren, Tahron Watson, Larry Hurd, Ebony Hurd, Andre Watson, Tamika Watson, Jason Watson, Tyrone Jr. Garner, Richard Williams, Chaquita Renolds, Candice Watson, Keith Jones Khari Jones, Lareek Anderson, Khari Anderson, Shari Trent, Michael Watson, & Troy Waston.

Zola leaves behinds a host of Great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Aunts and Uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends.
